Scope
This policy applies to dknypublishing.com, manuscript.dknypublishing.com, the Ask Theo website assistant, and written communications sent to DKNY Publishing email addresses or through the website contact form.
Information we collect
We may collect information that you choose to provide, including your name, email address, location, book title, genre, project stage, publishing goals, requested services, project description, target market, and preferred distribution channels. A contact inquiry may also include a subject and message.
Standard hosting and application systems may record technical information such as an IP address, browser type, device type, page requested, date, time, and security logs. This information supports reliability, abuse prevention, and troubleshooting.
Manuscripts, covers, and supporting files
Uploaded files are collected only so DKNY Publishing can review the requested project, respond to the author, evaluate possible services, and prepare a proposal or publishing discussion. Access is intended to be limited to authorized people who need the material for those purposes.
A submission is treated as private business material, but the intake form is not a substitute for a separately signed nondisclosure agreement. If a project requires a formal confidentiality agreement before review, contact Digby.Kerr@DKNYPublishing.com before uploading the material.
How information is used
- Review a manuscript or publishing inquiry and respond to the sender.
- Evaluate editorial, ghostwriting, cover, formatting, distribution, marketing, or publishing needs.
- Provide requested information about books, retailers, services, or availability.
- Maintain operational records, prevent abuse, protect the service, and resolve technical issues.
- Meet legal, accounting, or contractual obligations when they apply.
DKNY Publishing does not sell submitted manuscripts or personal information.
Retention and deletion
Information is retained for as long as reasonably needed to review and respond to a request, maintain business records, support an active publishing relationship, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. Authors may request deletion of an inquiry or submitted file. Some records may be retained when required by law or an active contract.
Security
DKNY Publishing uses access controls and established hosting providers to reduce the risk of unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure. No website, email system, or online storage service can promise absolute security. Authors should avoid including passwords, financial credentials, government identification numbers, or other unnecessary sensitive information in a submission.
Your choices
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information associated with your inquiry. Depending on where you live, local law may provide additional rights. A request may require reasonable identity verification before information is changed or released.
